"Alexis"
was created to celebrate the wedding of Clarke Swanson's daughter
Alexis. It was so well received by the wedding guests that Clarke
decided to release it commercially the following year. The estate
grown proprietary red is composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot
and Cabernet Franc. The 2000
Alexis was barrel aged for 21 months in 100% French oak; 50% new. The
wine was sourced exclusively from the Schmidt Ranch, located along
Oakville's Mayacamas foothills on the west side of the valley. The
well drained alluvial soils produced a small crop of intense,
concentrated fruit. A total of 4635 cases were produced
.

lots grown on our Schmidt Ranch. Beautifully dark red in color, the
2000 vintage is loaded with ripe, deep aromas of black cherry,
blueberry and toasty oak. The palate is concentrated and rich with
