Pretty Please! Pure Nectar!
December 27, 2004

PLEASE!  PRETTY PLEASE.....I BEG OF YOU!!  IF YOU HAVE AN INVOICED/PAID ORDER TO PICK UP, PLEASE MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO HAVE IT PICKED UP OR DELIVERED BY COURIER SERVICE NO LATER THAN DECEMBER 31ST. - WHY?

1.)  The store is small and our storage cup runneth over!
2.)  My liability insurance does not provide coverage for any loss to wine stored on the premise by a customer.
3.)  Your wine will be inaccessible to you as the store will be CLOSED THROUGH JANUARY 13TH., 2005.

This week the store's hours will be from 11 am to 6 pm daily through Friday, December 31st.

We will stock pile Lindauer Brut if you are looking for a wonderful value.  High energy bubbles, dry, sleek and lean, with bracing citrus acidity makes Lindauer the perfect aperitif or accompaniment with sashimi, oysters, smoked salmon or caviar.  Now there is a good one.....caviar with an $8.50 bottle of methode champenoise.  The money saved helps pay for the caviar!  Finding a new wine like the Lindauer is very gratifying.  Next year by this time, this new imported sparkling wine from New Zealand will have flooded the chain stores and become an American favorite in a very short time.  Needless to say, I won't be selling it then.  Reserve now to assure there is stock on hand when you come to pick up later in the week.  Usually $10 a bottle, still ON SALE through this week for only $8.50 a bottle.  Of course, other sparkling wines and Champagne are available.....just ask!

Thank you for a wonderful and most successful year!  In 2004 The Wine Consultant introduced you to fine new discovery values like the Patassy Pinot Noir, Castano Hecula, Capcanes Mas Donis, Protocolo, and the Lindauer Brut.....then there were the mid range guys like The Prisoner, Villa Creek and Mantra wines, and the Cold Creek Cabernet from Ste. Michelle.  And new gems from Napa Valley and Sonoma like O'Shaughnessy, Worthy and Pax.  Lewis Cellars continued to take giant steps with a string of "must have" wines......luckily we had a nice piece of the pie!  From Spain we introduced you to regions like Toro, Yecla, Montsant, Bierzo and Rueda and then showed you the grandeur achieved in the Priorat.  In Italy, the southern regions continued to offer wonderful surprises, but I was transfixed by 1999 vintage of Brunello di Montalcino in Tuscany and the perfect 2000 vintage for Barolo in Piedmont.   Hopefully, you ordered timely and now share my passion for at least some of these wines.

'Tis the season to reflect and give thanks to all of those who sacrifice so much of themselves so we may do the little things we so often take for granted.....like opening a good bottle of wine and enjoying it with friends.  I will be here in 2005 to help you select a few more!

A toast (you can't see us, but really.....we are raising a glass of 1967 Chateau d' Yquem) to you and your family for a safe, healthy, and prosperous new year!

Thank you..........oh GOD!  It is pure nectar!
