This is IT!

THIS IS IT!

SERIOUSLY!

IF THERE IS ONLY ONE WINE YOU ORDER FROM ME ALL YEAR....THIS IS THE ONE!

THIS IS MY PERSONAL WINE OF THE YEAR!!

When I tell you it is a 2003 Malbec from the Mendoza Valley in Argentina  STOP!  DO NOT DISMISS OR LOSE INTEREST!
I like this wine so much that I have reserved 250 cases of the 1500 cases produced.  For those of you unfamiliar with the varietal, Malbec is one of the five
grapes traditionally used to compose Bordeaux: the others being Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petite Verdot.  As Cabernet Sauvignon is "King" in our Napa Valley, Malbec is considered equally as worthy in the Mendoza Valley.

WHY THIS WINE?
Very simply, at a time when over-priced, over-rated, over-ripe, over-oaked, over-hyped, and over-packaged wines have saturated the market to chase your dollar.....I have found this absolute marvel to charm you at just a fraction of its true worth!  Many noted California Cabernet Sauvignon producers would be thrilled to have this juice in their bottles.

The first time I sampled this 100% varietal wine, it's perfume of vanillin enhanced black and blue fruits (cassis, blackberry and boysenberry) immediately riveted my full attention.  Produced from eighty year old vines, this Malbec's intensity of flavor and ample structure are perfectly balanced, as evidenced
by its seductively silky and lushly integrated tannins.  Saturday, a small group of friends met for a wonderfully prepared prime rib dinner.  THANK YOU to the "Commish" and his lovely wife Liz!  Guess what?!  This wine held its own with the likes of a decanted 1990 Chateau Latour (perfect 100 point rating by the Wine Spectator), and a magnum of 1996 Pahlmeyer Merlot by Helen Turley (97 points by Robert Parker).  Immediate gratification guaranteed!  Best to drink now to 2010.
