A New Vintage....Final...Final...

| FINAL....FINAL....LAST
OPPORTUNITY! |
|

Spring is about to burst forth, and so will
a bevy of new wines we await with the great
anticipation. With each new vintage there is the
gentle tick toc from Father Time, reminding us of
our own cycle and mortality. I find it the
best time for reflection as I await the first signs of
new life.....okay, bud break!
So, here is a final look to
purchase some of the best "time in a bottle" I can
offer. For some of these wines
there maybe a case or two, but for most of
them just a few bottles. So act quickly,
as this will be a fleeting
opportunity.
And if it is not about wine right now,
then at least take a moment to
rejoice and give thanks as
you witness nature's best work. Happy
New Vintage!

2001 TERRALSOLE
Brunello di Montalcino Riserva -
One busy afternoon during the holiday
season last December, Mario Bollag owner and winemaker
of Terralsole ("land of the son"), a
relatively new producer of Brunello di Montalcino,
paid me a special introductory visit. His wines
were outstanding, but I was truly mesmerized by his 2001
Riserva. I could not stop thinking about
the alluring spiciness that says "old world Montalcino",
or the boyant Sangiovese fruit that combines
unexpected depth with a charming
suppleness. The finish lingers to the
point of meditation. I was awed to be the presence
of such a profound wine.
Shows beautiful
aromas of crushed raspberry, cherry, vanilla and Indian
spices. Full-bodied, with ultrasilky tannins and a long,
long finish. Fantastic. This is a relatively new
producer. Best after 2010. - 95 points. Wine Spectator
