Mommie & Daddy
August 20, 2008
Sorry, but it's just been a tad too
hectic to write up the weekly newsletter. And this week is looking
like the same......thought this was supposed to be the slow time around
here??
At last Saturday's tasting bar, a lady
customer's response upon just sampling the new 07 Margerum Pinot Gris from Columbia Valley, "OH!
That's 'a Mommie's pool time' wine!" I immediately
understood!
Crisp and refreshing, like a
just sliced chilled ripe pear....with a lingering tweak of persistent
fruitiness. It has sold out two Saturdays in a row..... $15.95
(six bottles or more discount to only $14.04).
Whether you're a Mommie or NOT, I think you get the
picture..... We will pour it again this Saturday.
Believe it or not, a little later in the afternoon,
one of our gentleman customers had just sampled our latest Zinfandel
discovery. "Dude", he said, "Daddy's BBQ wine! I have found
you!" Again, I immediately understood, but had a
difficult time not laughing out loud. Big,
billowy nose of blackberry fruit and spice, full, but not over-ripe or "jam jar"
on the palate. Real Zin! Excellent balance and length. The
06 Ancient Peak Zin is from a vineyard in
the southern extremities of Paso Robles, growing out of a fossilized oyster bed. Totally under the radar at $15.95
(Should be $17.95) with the same six bottle discount to $14.04.
Yes, this Zin is also backordered, but will be restocked on Friday to
try again for this Saturday's tasting bar experience.**
Oh Hell! Let's make Mommie and Daddy both
HAPPY!! Mix or match both wines to combine for 6 or more bottles, and take
the "family plan" discount at $14.04!
