Dear Wine Friend,

My apologies for all of the RED!  But, I am trying to get your ATTENTION!  It's been ages since I have found such a high quality Pinot Noir that delivers for the money.  The unassuming 07 Red Label by Roessler Cellars is THE bargain!!  If Roessler is unfamiliar to you, it specializes in sourcing and vineyard designating, limited production, terroir stamped Pinot Noir under the direction of superstar winemaker Wells Guthrie (Copain fame!).   However, the 07 Red Label is exactly the opposite, but who cares?  Mr. Guthrie achieves a brilliant alchemy from a hodgepodge blend of "leftover" Sonoma wines.  It's a win-win for winery and consumer. The stunning 07 Red Label reminds me of the beautiful red cherries in season at the moment.  Add some spice, a supple velvety texture, and a vapor trail finish.....  Voila!

OTHER REVIEWS OF NOTE!

"Medium ruby color; rich, bright, spicy cherry aromas; ripe, bright cherry flavors with a touch of earth and oak; silky texture; good structure and balance; long finish. Ripe and spicy Pinot that's a great bargain on top of being delicious." - 93 points, Pinot Report - Issue 57

"Rich and layered, with loamy earth, black cherry and wild berry fruit that's supple, full-bodied, creamy and long, with fleshy tannins. Drink now through 2013. 1,075 cases made. -JL" - 92 points, Wine Spectator - June 15, 2009

REVIEWS!

"Medium-deep ruby color; very complex and deep cherry and earthy aromas; deep, complex spice, lavender and dusty red cherry flavors with forest floor notes; silky texture, sweet oak; great structure and balance; long finish. This Pinot is all about great structure and texture. The Savoy bottling has definitely become my favorite Roessler bottling over the years and the 2007 is the best one yet. Plenty of potential ahead; be sure to give it some air before you drink it." - 97 points, Pinot Report - Issue 57

Beautifully defined fruit is ripe, intense, focused and layered, built around a core of blueberry and wild raspberry. Firms up nicely on the finish, where the tannins give the flavors traction. Drink now through 2014. 268 cases made. -JL - 94 points, Wine Spectator - June 30, 2009
