The Wine Spectator has announced its "Top Wines of the Year"!  And sure enough, as I predicted in the October 13th newletter, "Are You A Wine Snob?", the 2005 Columbia Crest Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon was declared the #1 Wine for 2009.  Of course, it sold out last February, and now the 06 Reserve is "no longer available" except for a very few bottles remaining at at $29.95.  That makes two years in a row for my crystal ball!  Now, if I could only do better at the race track! 
 

The long awaited release of the 2007 ANCIENT PEAKS CABERNET SAUVIGNON from Margarita Vineyard in southern Paso Robles will arrive this Friday and I will include it in Saturday's "All American" tasting.  Those who have followed along for at least a year will recall I named the 2006 Ancient Peaks Cabernet Sauvignon my 2008  "Best New Discovery Wine of the Year!"  You responded by purchasing over 3,000 bottles.
