Steering you to a great CAB Value!
October 14, 2003

I was prepared to offer you the Fall releases of the 2000 Etude Cabernet Sauvignon and 2000 Dunn Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, but I will place that email on the back burner for now and let this opening salvo alert you to stay tuned for next week.
Why? I just sampled the best Cabernet Sauvignon wine value I have come across since the 1998 Yalumba Cabernet Sauvignon from Barossa Valley in Australia. In June of 2001, veteran email recipients will recall how I compared this wine to the very top Cabernet Sauvignon producers from Sonoma's Alexander Valley...at almost one fourth the price.
My radar has been up for another of these gems! And you would think with all the crying about high prices and the wine "glut" that a opportunistic California producer would like to bury a notch in the savvy consumer's bed post with a successful, but affordable Cabernet Sauvignon. Guess again! It is another Aussie producer!!
Let me just preface my introduction with a "don't laugh at the name", this is a serious Cabernet Sauvignon. The Aussies are known for creating off-the-wall proprietary names. Some of you might think it's cute....I don't! But the wine is worth any abuse when you open a bottle and introduce your friends to the lush and smooth
2002 "ANGUS THE BULL" Cabernet Sauvignon from the Aberdeen Wine Company. No Bull!
"Wow! What a spectacular value in 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Four thousand cases of this gorgeously rich, pure, medium to full-bodied 2002 were produced. A dense, ruby/purple color is followed by copious quantities of crËme de cassis, spice, and earth aromas. Rich and textured, it is a total hedonistic turn-on that readers should consider purchasing by the case. Why can't any California wineries produce a Cabernet Sauvignon this special for a similar price? Drink in over the next 4-5 years!"
90 points - Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate - Issue 147 (June 03)
The wine is a bargain at $17.95 a bottle. ORDER NOW by reply email while I can supply and offer it to you at $14.75 a bottle!!
Angus or "the bull" will be available to sample at the corral...I mean tasting bar this Friday, October 17th.
Thank you,
