All alcoholic beverages are sold in California and title passes to the buyer in California. The Wine Consultant makes no representation to the legal rights of anyone to ship or import wines into any state outside of California. The buyer is solely responsible for shipment of alcoholic beverage products. By placing an order you authorize The Wine Consultant to engage a common carrier to deliver your order to you.

Currently, the ability to legally ship alcoholic beverage into many states is changing from day-to-day. The Wine Consultant suggests you contact us to verify any shipping restrictions that may apply to your state. At this time it is legal for TWC to ship to the following states: AL, AZ, CA, CO, D.C., FL, GA, HA, IA, ID, IL, ME, MN, MO, MT, NC, ND, NE, NM, NV, OR, RI, SC, TX,VA, VT, WA, WV, WI.

The Wine Consultant ships most orders using UPS World Wide Ship software. All UPS rates are passed along to you at our cost. We suggest you contact us for a direct quote to your Zip Code.

The Wine Consultant does charge a fee for handling and the styrofoam/corrugated materials used for your shipment. A one bottle (750 ml) shipper is $3.75, two bottles - $5.00, three bottles - $6.75, six bottles - $9.75, and twelve bottles - $15.00. Whenever possible, we attempt to use recycled shippers to reduce your cost.

We constantly keep an eye on the weather conditions from our departure point in Sacramento to your destination. When weather conditions are non-threatening, standard Ground Track (6 day) is utilized as it is the least expensive means. Although not guaranteed, a typical delivery will arrive within Northern California the next working day or to Southern California within two working days. During summer months we recommend Next Day or 2nd Day Air to temperate destinations more than 600 miles from the Sacramento area. UPS does not deliver on weekends.

Alcoholic beverages may be sold and delivered only to persons who are at least 21 years of age. In placing your order, you represent to The Wine Consultant that you are at least 21 years of age. At time of delivery, your order must be accepted and signed for by an adult at least 21 years of age. The signer may be required to show proper identification to prove his or her age. UPS will not leave an alcoholic beverage order without a valid signature. The Wine Consultant encourages you to always have your order shipped to a business.

The Wine Consultant can not guarantee the condition of a wine after it leaves the premises. The Wine Consultant takes all necessary precautions to assure the safe delivery of your order. However, The Wine Consultant and the contracted carrier are not responsible for temperature damaged wine. All shipments are insured against loss or breakage at the replacement cost of .35 cents per $100 (coverage is automatically included in the shipping cost for any orders less than $100).

A customer has five working days to pick up any order before the file credit card is automatically debited.
