CLIO is the Jorge Ordonez-Chris Ringland (most famous Barossa-Aussie winemaker) project from an extraordinarily old vine, low yielding white chalky vineyard in Jumilla, Spain. A ripe, almost opaque purple-black colored blend of meticulously selected 70% Mourvedre (Monastrell) and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon is basket pressed and then fermented and aged for 26 months in a combination of new French and American oak. The results have always been an over-the-top, lavish and hedonistic expression of black and blue fruits with enthralling aromas of spice box, violets, espresso, and vanillin. CLIO is crazy fun to drink now, but capable of aging at least 15 years. Since CLIO's conception in 2002, here are Robert Parker's Wine Advocate ratings to date:

- 93 points

- 96 points

- 97 points

- 95 points

- 95 points
